These turkey recipes for Thanksgiving will give you a new creative inspiration to bring in Thankgiving with tasty cheap and quick meals.
Thanksgiving just got over, and many of my friends were not able to go home because college was on. Everyone was feeling nostalgic and were missing home. So a friend and I decided to host a Thanksgiving dinner and have everyone over so that no one felt lonely. Since neither of us had ever made turkey before, we agreed to try out simpler versions of it to ensure that everyone had some food to fill their stomachs. So instead of placing all our bets on one dish (Roast Turkey), we decided to make multiple turkey recipes for Thanksgiving.
We had two or three health conscious friends coming over, and everything that we had in mind was pretty rich in calories. So as appetizers, we figured that we could make little rolls that would get us started and basically serve something that everyone would agree to eat. For those conscious people, this Turkey Ranch Club Wrap by Tammy, was their appetiser as well as their entrée. But they actually didn’t complain one bit. They just raided all the wraps, without leaving much for the others. The wrap was very fresh and delicious in taste and it barely took us any time to prepare it. Besides, it is one of the most exciting turkey recipes for Thanksgiving.
I cannot help but agreeing with Alyson about making food on the grill. The char and the smell of the roast, brings together such beautiful flavours that leaves your mouth watering. No spread of food can ever be complete without a barbecue dish, and hence we couldn’t help but include The Best Turkey Burger by Alyson. We had this being prepared on the go, having one of our barbecue experts being in charge of the counter. We made this a little extra spicy to match out tastes, but it was absolutely scrumptious.
This recipe is for all those indulgent people like me who just love some hot gooey cheese in their meals. It was the perfect comfort food for all those missing home. I made a large batch of this and hid some in the refrigerator so that I could have more over the week. Lisa’s Turkey Noodle Casserole is a heart filled portion of cheesy goodness.
Well, no thanksgiving dinner can be complete without a roasted turkey. Since we didn’t really know how to make the traditional roasted turkey, we decided to make this Simple Herb and Garlic Roasted Turkey Breast by Marcie. Unlike roasting an entire turkey, this recipe was so much easier and also super soft and delicious. The herbs really bring out the flavour in the turkey and since I’m one of the biggest fans of garlic, my palate was happy and content.
Since our theme was Thanksgiving, and as the both of us were so overly enthusiastic of including turkey in every dish, we thought why not have a semi-sweet, semi-savoury desert using turkey. So we ended our little party with Stacie’s Turkey, Cranberry & Brie Quesadillas. It was such a hit! In fact, what we did was, we cut all the ingredients and kept it in different bowls so that people could make their own Quesadillas and have a feeling of involvement. This sweet dish was the perfect ending to our warm cosy get together.
